Glutathione peroxidase
(GSH) is a compound classified as a tripeptide and made up of three non-essential amino acids: cysteine, glutamic acid, and
glycine. It is the human body’s most abundant natural antioxidant and protects
vision, boosts the immune system, aids in the metabolism of carbohydrates into energy, and prevents the buildup of oxidized
fats that may lead to arteriosclerosis. GSH is found in every part of the body, especially
the lungs, intestinal tract, and liver. The body produces and stores the largest amounts of GSH in the liver, where it is
used to detoxify harmful compounds so that they can be removed from the body through the bile. The liver also supplies GSH
directly to red and white blood cells in the bloodstream; it helps keep red blood and white blood cells healthy to maximize
the disease-fighting power of the immune system.

Glutathione
Deficiency
.
Studies show that GSH deficiency
can have a devastating effect on the nervous system. Some of the symptoms are lack of balance and coordination,
mental disorders, and tremors. Any illness (even a bad cold), chronic disorders such as asthma and rheumatoid arthritis or
injury, can cause GSH deficiency. This is because your body uses more GSH when it is supporting white blood cells and eliminating
toxins from the body. GSH does not have just antioxidant properties, but also serves
as an immune system booster, and detoxifier. Antioxidants can help repair body damage caused by such things as stress, radiation,
infections, drugs, medications, malnutrition, and aging. It protects the body from a multitude of diseases
and conditions.
.
Factors that affect GSH level in the body:
Chronic
Disease (Cancer, Immune Problems)
Pollutants
(Smog, Pesticides, etc)
Birth
Control Pills & Hormone Replacement Therapy
Stress , Bad Food (Unsaturated Oil, Chemicals)
Medications (Aspirin, Chemotherapy,
etc)
Glutathione Sources
GSH
is found in almost all fruits and vegetables. Acorn squash, asparagus, avocado, cantaloupe, grapefruit, okra, orange, peach,
potato, spinach, strawberries, tomato, watermelon, and zucchini are all good sources of GSH. Some vegetables, such as broccoli,
cabbage, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, kale, and parsley, not only provide GSH, but also actually stimulate the body produce
more of this powerful antioxidant. Cooking destroys a lot of the GSH in fresh fruits
and vegetables, so you can get the most GSH from these foods by eating them raw or steamed. Eating foods high in glutamine,
such as lean meats, eggs, wheat germ, and whole grains, can also stimulate the liver to produce more GSH.
Oral Glutathione Supplement
Although GSH supplements
have no known harmful side effects, there is some concern about the bocy's ability to absorb GSH efficiently in oral supplemental
form. GSH is a large molecule therefore it is not well absorbed into the body when taken by mouth. There is no
Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for GSH. .
Glutathione for Beauty and Anti-Aging GSH is our body's most important natural antioxidant. It is a very strong antioxidant and found in the
cell of nearly all living organism on earth, and its primary job is waste disposal. It binds to toxins in the liver
and then flushed out of the body.
Several scientific papers show that GSH have anti-aging effect on
the body. As we age, our GSH levels are depleted due to exposure to air pollutants, stress, drugs, smoking, or food
chemicals that damage our cellular systems. Lack of GSH has been shown to make the body more vulnerable to damage by
free radicals. This results in the speeding up of the oxidation process (wearing down) in the body. Animal
and laboratory studies have demonstrated that GSH has the potential to fight almost any disease, particularly
those associated with aging, since free radical damage is the cause of many of the diseases of old age. Studies
also recommend that those people who have heart disease, or have a high LDL (bad cholesterol) should raise their GSH levels.
Glutathione and Skin Lightening
Skin Lightening is the only known side effects of GSH. Therefore
GSH IV injection has the ability to lighten dark skin pigmentations (dark acne scars, freckles, dark underarms, age spots,
etc), because GSH is proven to reverse the melanin's metabolism turning dark pigmentations (eumelanin) into light pigmentations
(phaeomelanin). The supplement GSH is the fundamental key to achieve skin lightening. It is by far the most effective way
to fight hyperpigmentation. It slows and stops the body from producing melanin over time.
It works from the inside to repair and nourish skin – giving the
skin a radiant glow. It makes pores finer - the skin becomes smoother and clearer. It
also controls acne and prevents acne marks.
We all need GSH as part of our daily
dietary nutrition even if we don't desire lighter skin. You may take GSH for its antioxidant properties or for skin
lightening. Even those healthy individuals who take very good care of their bodies may still benefit from GSH.
GSH goes deep down into the cellular level of our arteries, brain, heart, immune cells, kidneys, lenses of the eyes, liver,
lungs, and skin against oxidative damage.
